Dipyridamole is a medication that’s able to keep the plateletes inside your blood from becoming coagulated (clotting problems). When this happens it stops blood clots from developing on or around a heart valve that’s artificial.
Dipyridamole is mainly used in order to prevent blodo clots after someone has had heart valve replacement surgery, but it can also be used for other purposes not mentioned here.

Is this the best treatment option for your condition?
One of the best ways to know whether or not Dipyridamole is best for your condition, would be to first examine all other options out there. Some people think that there’s always a better option, but this might not be the case. You have to understand what the best option means. In many cases different options are actually quite similar. It’s just that some of them might be riskier than others. You have to learn how to tell the difference between which treatment options are the same (just branded differently) and which ones aren’t.
Secondly, if you find that certain treatment options are hard to get then there’s probably a reason for this. You can always ask your doctor about this and they should be able to help explain why a certain treatment option isn’t preferred. This could be because it comes with a high risk of side effects or because your particular condition isn’t serious enough to warrant it’s use. Then you have some doctors who just trust one type of treatment over another, because they’ve had a good track record with it.
The bottom line is you’ll need to trust that if the doctor prescribes Dipyridamole for your condition, then it’s because they believe it’s going to work best for you while minimizing the risk of side effects. If it doesn’t work as well as they expect it to, then they can always make changes and offer you something they feel will work better. The strongest options (meaning the ones that come with the highest risk) are usually those seen as a last resort.
Because this is the case a doctor would not want to start out offering you such options right away. Not only this, but these options are usually very pricey. This is even if you don’t get them under the brand name label.
